Races, population structures, genome and functional genomics of the stripe rust pathogen. Molecular mapping and cloning genes for resistance to stripe rust. 1998: USDA-ARS Certificate of Merit, for research on the genetics of stripe rust resistance in wheat and barley, and development of a fast and efficient technique for genome scanning for resistance gene analogs.
1999: USDA-ARS Spot Award, for outstanding advancements in the identification and development of molecular markers for use in transferring durable stripe rust resistance genes in wheat and barley.
2003: USDA-ARS Spot Award. For developing an externally-funded international program of scientific cooperation to address the worldwide Stripe Rust program.
