Objective:
• Research and development of novel domestic-based lumber-based engineered mass timber products. • Research and development of new construction techniquest that support and encourage domestic mass timber. • Research and examination of barriers to entry, among architects, of domestic based mass timber building elements. • Research and development of nondestructive technologies for use with domestid lumber-based mass timber products, elements, and substructures.

Approach:
Work with lumber and mass timber producers in support of developing markets for domestic wood products. Identify roadblocks to implementation of domestic mass timber elements from underutilized lumber species and/or grades. Cooperate with user groups and architectural associations to disseminate research findings in support of market development and commercialization. Cooperate with USDA Forest Products Laboratory as a technical advisor.
