Objective:
The project goals are to characterize resistance to Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) in the University of California (UC) barley germplasm, to identify any novel sources of resistance and to develop barley varieties with improved FHB resistance.
Approach:
In order to achieve our objectives, we will continue to screen UC barley breeding germplasm in a Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) nursery, work on identifying genomic regions of interest, and incorporate known resistant material into our breeding pipeline.
