Objective:
1) Continue crossing resistant material into lines adapted to Montana; screen progeny in different environments. 2) Continue to pyramid resistant lines and screen for resistance in the field for genotype mapping. 3) Phenotype resistance in four 2-row NAM families. 4) Collect and identify Fusarium species in the Montana disease complex.
Approach:
We will perform crosses of previously identified resistance with Montana adapted lines using standard methods and screen/phenotype in an Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) nursery in Sidney, MT. We will collect isolates from FHB affected fields and identify them to species using established methodologies.
