Technical Abstract: A sub-model of forage production developed for temperate climate is being adapted to tropical conditions in Brazil. Sub-model predictive performance has been evaluated using data of Cynodon spp. Results from sensitivity and validation tests were consistent, but values of DM production for the wet season were underestimated by the sub-model. New refinements and parameter calibration need to be carried out to improve DM predictions.
