Objective:
Objective 1 is to deliver analytical services that enable the development of wheat and barley cultivars with reduced DON contamination; expected outcomes include high-quality datasets to identify resistant germplasm. Objective 2 is to facilitate DON testing that improves FHB management; expected outcomes include actionable data to guide agronomic decisions.
Approach:
DON will be quantified from FHB breeding and management trials. Ground samples will be analyzed using standardized GC/MS protocols. Quality control data will include blind sample testing to ensure accuracy and consistency.
