Objective:
1. Standardize mobile image acquisition for FHB phenotyping across environments and plot types
2. Optimize image analysis for throughput, robustness, and accuracy
3. Validate phenotyping across germplasm and environments using multi-institution data and field ratings
Approach:
Refine and deploy a standardized mobile imaging protocol across collaborating breeding programs, collect multiinstitution field image datasets, centrally process images using an AI-based analysis pipeline, iteratively improve model performance using diverse data, and validate outputs against independent field ratings to ensure accuracy, robustness, and broad applicability.
