Objective:
To support the development of the 1st edition of a new publication, titled the “USDA Agriculture Biorisk Compendium” (ABC), which shall be a set of best practices for the biosafety and biocontainment of research and other applications of work that involves animal and plant pathogens of agricultural significance in both terrestrial and aquatic environments.
Approach:
USDA ARS Office of National Programs and the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) will serve as co-editors, staff the ABC Steering Committee and provide scientific and technical leadership for the development of the compendium. CRDF will provide coordination and editorial support for the development of the first draft of the ABC 1st edition. This support will include but is not limited to scheduling virtual meetings with the writing teams and
