Objective:
Winter wheat and malting barley are important crops to Delaware and Fusarium Head Blight (FHB)is the major small grain disease concern within the region. This project aims to improve FHB management and understanding of pathogen biology through field and laboratory research.
Approach:
Management of Fusarium Head Blight (FHB) will be improved by conducting field research in wheat and malting barley in Delaware. Additionally, understanding of fungicide sensitivity at a national scope will be improved by screening FHB isolates from across the US as one of two core fungicide resistance testing facilities.
