Objective:
Pyramid and evaluate Fhb1, Fhb5, and where appropriate Fhb7The2, in Montana-adapted durum wheat using marker-assisted selection and multi-environment field trials to quantify effects on FHB severity, DON, agronomic performance, and identify elite, release-ready lines.
Approach:
Develop Montana-adapted, FHB-resistant durum by pyramiding Fhb1, Fhb5, and where appropriate Fhb7The2 into elite backgrounds using KASP marker-assisted selection, followed by targeted multi-environment field trials to assess FHB severity, DON levels, and agronomic performance.
