Objective:
1) Evaluate the integrated effects of fungicide efficacy, fungicide timing and genetic resistance on FHB and DON
2) Compare the economic benefit of FHB forecast-based fungicide programs
3) Generate data to validate the FHB risk prediction models.
4) Facilitate leadership and communication of USWBSI information
Approach:
A total of 15 field experiments will be established at 8 locations in North Dakota, and evaluate
fungicide efficacy, fungicide timing, and genetic resistance for management of FHB and DON. Communication of research results to stakeholders will be accomplished through Extension events, and through co-leadership tasks of the USWBSI.
