Location: Natural Resources and Sustainable Agricultural Systems

Project Number: 0202-11000-001-041-M
Project Type: Memorandum of Understanding

Start Date: Aug 8, 2022
End Date: Aug 7, 2027

Objective:
The purpose of this MOU is to strengthen partnerships in areas of mutual interest between the Participants to advance innovative research and development and application of sustainable agriculture solutions. To this end, Participants intend to jointly explore and develop cooperative work plans for research and engagement activities of mutual interest, which will be implemented in mutual understanding and conformance with the regulations and policies of both Participants.

Approach:
This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) defines in general terms the basis on which the Participants intend to cooperate. Individual projects may be developed between the Participants that outline specific research projects. This MOU between ARS and TNC establishes the Participants’ intent to develop a cooperative relationship through joint efforts aimed at strategic initiatives common to the LTAR Network and TNC. The Participants recognize that cooperation is a matter of working together toward common goals of mutual interest, mutual understandings, and efficient administration of cooperative programs. Nothing in this broad understanding is to be construed as interfering in any way with the basic responsibilities and authority of either Participant for independent action.
