Over 60 patents have been issued in the U.S. This bibliography contains references pertaining to published as well as unpublished reports, mechanical harvester patents, and popular press articles describing worldwide attempts to mechanize the harvest of asparagus. Included also are related horticultural and physical properties subjects: plant establishment, transplanting, spacing, harvest schemes, physical properties, fiber content and identification, length sorting, spear orientation, post harvest handling, economics, marketing, and major cultural bulletins, etc. It has been compiled as an aid to ensure that the worldwide research is known and available to all scientists endeavoring to accomplish harvest mechanization. |
