Interpretive Summary: Infection by the single-celled parasite Neospora caninum causes abortion in livestock. A scientist from the Beltsville Agricultural Research Service reviewed information on neosporosis in animals. This review will be of interest to veterinarians and parasitologists.

Technical Abstract: Neospora caninum causes abortion in cattle and paralysis in dogs. In the present paper biology of N. caninum infections in animals is reviewed.
