Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Near-infrared and Raman spectroscopy have been used for the prediction of quality traits in rice and wheat. These traits include protein, apparent amylose, lipid, moisture content and other attributes. Comparison of results is made between these two spectroscopic techniques for the prediction of laboratory values on identical sample sets. Required specific optimal preprocessing of the spectral data prior to chemometric calibration and prediction results will be discussed.
