Objective:
The objectives of this research are to: 1) use a rover to phenotype FHB severity on wheat and barley, 2) develop models to quantify FHB from imaged plots, 3) determine the efficiency of the rover for measuring FHB severity in field experiments vs conventional rating methods, and 4) model FHB-severity and DON levels using image-based FHB detection.
Approach:
The researcher will use a rover for high-throughput phenotyping and compare it to traditional phenotyping to determine efficiency and accuracy.
