Objective:
The objectives of this research are: 1) use traditional breeding methods to provide hard winter wheat germplasm with introgressed FHB resistance to breeders in the growing region, 2) use genomic approaches to improve and optimize breeding for FHB resistance in hard winter wheat and 3) conduct winter wheat with fungicide trials.
Approach:
The researcher will conduct traditional and molecular breeding methods to improve FHB resistance in hard winter wheat germplasm for breeders in the growing region. Fungicide trials will be conducted on elite material to determine the response on DON accumulation.
