Research Project: Spatial Analysis of Greenhouse Gas Emission of Bioenergy Cropping Systems from Farm to National Scale

Location: Pasture Systems & Watershed Management Research

Project Number: 8070-21000-008-12-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Jan 1, 2014
End Date: Jul 31, 2017

Spatial analysis of nitrous oxide (N2O) emissions, nitrate (NO3) leaching, and soil carbon of bioenergy cropping systems from farm to regional and national scale.

USDA-ARS and Colorado State University (CSU) will conduct systems level analyses of environmental impacts by bioenergy crops. Spatial analysis of N2O emissions, NO3 leaching, and soil carbon in bioenergy cropping systems will be conducted over a range of landscape scales from farm, state, region, and national scale using the DayCent model.
