Objective:
The objectives of this research are: 1) determining fungal modes of infection that evade host resistance and chemical control and 2) development methods to overcome these modes in the host plant.
Approach:
The researcher will conduct microscopy and lab studies to determine the modes of fungal infection and the external stressors that lead to increases in these modes of infection. Subsequent studies will allow the researcher to identify genes associated with these modes of infection.
