Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: An overview of grain handling and instruments and sorting techniques will be overview. It includes commercially available devices and well as research devices which were developed by the USDA-ARS engineers. Some of the commercial systems include current agricultural grain drills and planters which have developed into precise delivery systems for seeds going into the ground. The majority of the presentation will cover single seed imaging and sorting systems such as the LED visible/infrared sorter. These systems have help the seed breeder develop improved seeds for all commodities.
