Research Project: Identification of Carbon Input Requirements for Small Farm Anaerobic Soil Disinfestation Under Temperate Production Systems

Location: Citrus and Other Subtropical Products Research

Project Number: 6034-22000-046-004-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2018
End Date: Aug 31, 2023

Objective:
The objective of the current research project is to conduct greenhouse and grower-cooperator field trials to encourage mid- and small-scale vegetable growers in temperate regions to explore anaerobic soil disinfestation for sustainable production.

Approach:
Replicated greenhouse trials will be conducted to evaluate locally-available carbon sources for anaerobic soil disinfestation and field trials will be conducted with grower cooperators to determine efficacy in high tunnel vegetable production systems.
