Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: Outfield variety trials are conducted each year on grower farms that represent different regions and soils of the Louisiana sugarcane industry. These trials are carried out during the final three years of a variety’s 12 year testing period in the Louisiana sugarcane variety development program. Variety trials are planted, harvested, and evaluated cooperatively by the Agricultural Research Service of the United States Department of Agriculture, the American Sugar Cane League of the U.S.A, Inc., and Louisiana State University Agricultural Center. Recommended commercial varieties and experimental varieties selected for further testing are included in these trials. This report summarizes the yield performance of varieties harvested from outfield variety trials in 2019.
