Objective:
To screen carrot breeding lines for their resistance against Root Knot Nematodes.
Approach:
- Establish a field trial site inoculated with root-knot nematodes to screen carrots for tolerance at the Cooperator's Research Farm.
- Establish a second field trial at the same location with no nematodes to evaluate carrot performance without nematode damage.
- Grow and evaluate diverse carrot genetic stocks in both trials.
