Research Project: CEAP-Grazing Lands Remote Sensing of Woody Vegetation

Location: Southwest Watershed Research Center

Project Number: 2022-13610-013-013-I
Project Type: Interagency Reimbursable Agreement

Start Date: Jul 10, 2021
End Date: Jul 9, 2026

Objective:
Develop a remote sensing based product for cooperators to enable more efficient planning and modeling on private lands, enhance efficiency of model simulations, and streamline the conservation planning process and allow for improved documentation of benchmark and post-treatment conditions.

Approach:
Continue and expand imagery analysis and classification by MLRA of woody plant canopy cover, for NRCS use in planning and modeling efforts. Complete development of the ArcGIS RaBET Online application to estimate woody plant canopy cover values from Landsat imagery. Provide maintenance and troubleshooting expertise to RaBET Online.
