Targeted grazing to control cheatgrass in mixed-grass rangeland

/ARSUserFiles/30123025/images/Heifers grazing.jpg

USDA-ARS scientists and collaborators are (1) identifying the optimal timing for targeted cattle grazing to control cheatgrass at mixed-grass rangeland sites in Wyoming and Nebraska, and (2) measuring how cheatgrass and native plants respond to precisely timed grazing, compared with business-as-usual summer grazing.
