Low drop channel grade control structures |
Knickpoint progression can be arrested by construction of a low weir with a pre-formed scour hole protected by rock. This weir is referred to as a low drop structure. Low drop structure design was originated by NSL scientists and has been continually refined by scientists and engineers working in the DEC program. Low drop structures typically cost between $200,000 and $400,000 depending on the size of the stream.
