Stream Stability Structures Help Restore Life
headline bar

In stream channels, erosion control and bank stabilization structures have been shown to provide beneficial habitat for aquatic communitites which is otherwise scare in degraded streams. Planting of woody vegetation integrated with other structures produces additional stabilization and is a source of natural in-stream habitat and food supply for aquatic organisms. Fish and aquatic invertebrate communities can be monitored to provide indication of watershed health and integrity.
