Tensiometers were installed horizontally into the soil from the bank face for monitoring the soil water potential during flow events.

A perforated pipe with a cloth sleeve was buried in a trench with the ends extending above the soil surface. A large water tank was set up between the two pipe openings and water lines routed from the tank to the buried pipe.

During the fall, water from LTC will be applied by the tank to the buried pipe to conduct a forced gradient subsurface flow experiment. During these experiments, subsurface water flows will be manually recorded and samples collected with time for sediment analysis.
