Interpretive Summary: Foot-and-mouth disease virus (FMDV) causes a devastating disease affecting livestock in many countries worldwide. Here we report non submitted sequences on FMD viruses that circulated in cattle in Uganda between 2015-2016. These complete virus sequence are related to other similar FMDV isolates from cattle in Uganda.

Technical Abstract: This report contains complete genome sequences of field foot and mouth disease virus (FMDV) serotype O topotype EA-2 isolated in Uganda between 2014 and 2016. These full-genome FMDV sequences were obtained by Illumina next-generation sequencing of RNA isolated from probang specimen (oropharyngeal fluid) of naturally infected cattle in Uganda.
