Technical Abstract: Maintaining plant health is a critical aspect of plant germplasm preservation. Plant pathologists who work in seed banks play many roles to promote plant health. This chapter outlines phytosanitary concepts relevant to seedbank pathologists and provides an overview of addressing phytosanitary regulations through field inspections, seed health testing and seed treatments. Key principles of plant disease diagnosis and management relevant to seedbanks are introduced.
