Interpretive Summary: A number of updates on research projects conducted within Kentucky concerning tall fescue (Lolium arundinacium) and its symbiotic endophyte (Neotyphodium coenophialum) were presented at the annual SERA-IEG 8 workshop including a number with Forage-Animal Production Research Unit scientist collaborations. These included: 1.) A method for gas chromatographic analysis of gamma-amino butyric acid (GABAZ) in tall fescue herbage, 2.) GABA in herbage of field grown endophyte-free and endophyte-infected tall fescue, and 3.) Performance and physiology of steers grazing toxic tall fescue as influenced by feeding soybean hulls and steroidal implants.
