Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: The Asian citrus psyllid, Diaphorina citri Kuwayama, was discovered in Broward County, Florida in 1998, and has since spread through most of the state. It is an important vector of Huanglongbing, an economically devastating disease of citrus; consequently, researchers and regulators are trying to develop an understanding of aspects of biology and behavior that may be pertinent to its monitoring and control. This report describes acoustic signals used by male and female psyllids during courtship, and considers these signals in the context of related species.
