American Mosquito Control Association. Interpretive Summary: None. Technical Abstract: In the laboratory test, the results showed that two new formulations of boric acid and 1 formulation; of Spinosad mixed with sugar as toxic baits provided effective control for adult mosquitoes. Field boric acid and Fipronil bait stations with attractants reduced the landing rate counts for human subjects and the number of mosquitoes collected by traps with dry ice/CO2 as attractants. Boric acid baits sprayed on plants & vegetation also provided effective control for released adult mosquitoes in outdoor cages. The effect of boric acid on plants against adult mosquitoes lasted for about 2 weeks post treatments. |
