Objective:
Evaluate the impact of different conservation practices on water quality (particularly nutrient cycling)in lakes and ponds within the Beasley Lake and Goodwin Creek Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP) watersheds in Mississippi.
Approach:
Carbon and nitrogen cycling in lakes and ponds within these CEAP watersheds will be assessed in relation to the impacts of surrounding implemented conservation practices by measuring concentrations of carbon and nitrogen in various environmental matrices. We will examine pathways from land to plant, water, and air.
