Research Project: Assessing Erosion Resistance of Bank Materials on American and Sacramento Rivers

Location: Watershed Physical Processes Research

Project Number: 6060-13000-026-043-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Apr 1, 2019
End Date: Jun 30, 2020

Objective:
Assess the resistance to erosion of bank materials along the American and Sacramento Rivers surrounding the City of Sacramento using the methods: Borehole Erosion Test (BET), Pocket Erodometer Test (PET), and Erosion Function Apparatus (EFA).

Approach:
The cooperator will collect new data on soil erosion resistance using Borehole Erosion Test, Pocket Erodometer Test and Erosion Function Apparatus methodology at select sites on the American and Sacramento Rivers surrounding the City of Sacramento, California.
