Dedication to Diversity

/ARSUserFiles/30320500/Diversity/AK2.jpg

At NPARL we are dedicated to diversity in the workplace. Just as our natural environment benefits from a diverse array of inhabitants, so, too, does our working environment. Multi-faceted scientific research requires that we look at problems from many different angles. By including a diverse collection of researchers and support staff from many different backgrounds, we are uniquely equipped to answer the many complex scientific questions facing agriculture in the northern plains.

To nurture a diverse workforce, NPARL works hard to ensure it abides by all existing laws and regulations; that it reaches out to different communities and academic institutions when hiring, and that it provides a welcoming and supportive environment for those ultimately joining us in our research efforts.

We've added this page to provide information for developing and maintaining diversity in our workplace.

Diversity Training Resources:

For NPARL staff, a listing of available hiring resources focused on diversity can be found on the lab's shared network (P:\Admin\Employee\Applications\Inclusive hiring tips). Additional hiring and mentoring resources and information are also available on Axon, the ARS Intranet; as well as from the Plains Area ODEO office and PACE, the Plains Area Committee for Engagement, and from ARS' National ODEO office.
