Biography and Research

Dr. Sanghoon Kim has been a Research Chemist at NCAUR, USDA-ARS, Peoria, IL since 2002. He received his Ph.D. in Polymer Physical Chemistry from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, WI. Dr. Kim is a member of a team of scientists conducting research on the commercial production of new products based on nano- or micro-particles. Dr. Kim performs research on the development of degradable polymer composites, nanoparticles for hydrophilic coating, nano- or micro-particles for the controlled-release of pesticides, and encapsulation of bioactive food ingredients that are unstable in ordinary environmental conditions.
