| Rehabilitation of a Severed Meander Bendway: Effects of Flow Augmentation - Water Quality |
|
Water Quality
Water quality was assessed during a late summer 30-day flow augmentation period to 28-day pre-treatment and 26-day post-treatment periods.
In-situ parameters (temperature, pH, dissolved oxygen, conductivity) were measured every 30 min at two of three sites using YSI 6000 and 6600 multi-parameter water quality monitoring systems.
Solids (total dissolved and suspended), nutrients as phosphorus (filterable orthophosphate and total phosphorus) and nitrogen (total ammonium-N, total nitrate-N and total nitrite-N), and chlorophyll a concentrations were measured at all three sites and inflow every 3-5 days using standard methods (APHA 1998).
