Janie Ross

Biological Science Technician

 

 

 

Janie Ross is originally from Spokane, WA but currently resides in Slidell, LA. She is a retired veteran from the Coast Guard with 26 years Active Duty. Janie has a B.S. in Organizational Management. Janie was raised in the rural area of Spokane, WA on a farm and had many chores from a small girl. She was responsible for irrigation of the fields, feeding the animals, among other tasks.  Her Coast Guard years taught her many skills with her various jobs throughout her career. She retired as a Master Chief Petty Officer and returned to the Coast Guard as a Federal Employee before joining us at TCSHL. Janie supports the honey bee research program here at the Location, and since 2021 is a certified Master Beekeeper.
