The disease is difficult to diagnose because of a lack of pathognomonic clinical signs and because of the inefficiency of diagnostic tests for this organism. Vaccination is the most common method chosen to prevent bovine leptospirosis. In this paper the clinical signs, diagnosis, and prevention of bovine leptospirosis are reviewed. Recent developments in the area of diagnostic tests and new data regarding the efficacy of vaccination are discussed. |
