Citation: Interpretive Summary: In the tropics, tree legumes are generally cut fresh and fed to ruminants as a source of protein. The fresh leaves of Gliricidia have been reported to give off an odor upon cutting, which reduces palatability of the fresh material. This study examined the feeding of fresh and 24 hour-wilted leaves to sheep. No difference in preference by sheeep was found between fresh and 24 h-wilted forage indicating in this study no reason to wilt Gliricidia prior to feeding.
