Interpretive Summary:

Technical Abstract: In each Rangeland Ecology and Management, I am responsible for choosing, promoting, and describing a best in issue manuscript called the Editors Choice. In this selection, I discuss the importance of protecting the wide diversity of wildlife in Africa and discuss the author’s ideas about how to protect them. They make the case for making sure incentives reach the local people of each area if they expect to control poaching.
