Interpretive Summary: Names, synonyms, and brief descriptions of new and noteworthy fruit cultivars are periodically published in the “Brooks and Olmo Register of New Fruit and Nut Varieties.” This paper represents a contribution to the Pear section of the register. These lists allow pomologists, horticulturists and fruit breeders to review the characteristics of fruit and nut cultivars that have been released for commercial production in North America. Fruit explorers, developers of new cultivars and patent/trademark officials also rely on this registry to learn of promising fruit varieties, to document variety names, and to avoid duplication in the naming of new cultivars.
