Technical Abstract: The North Central Regional Plant Introduction Station (NCRPIS) in Ames, Iowa is one of four regional Plant Introduction stations within the NPGS. The flax collection is one of the valuable germplasm collections maintained at the NCRPIS. It is a diverse assemblage of 2964 accessions collected from 65 different countries. Most accessions in the flax collection are Linum usitatissimum; but the collection also includes accessions of wild Linum species. Small quantities of seed (generally 200 seed per accession) are distributed free of charge for bona fide research or educational purposes. Germplasm samples and additional information can be obtained by contacting the author.
