Objective:
Develop and test an alfalfa lygus bug resistance screen and test it on a sampling of alfalfa varieties. Determine extent of variation for alfalfa lygus bug resistance with and between varieties
Approach:
Individual alfalfa plant lygus bug feeding measurement protoclas will be developed. Alfalfa varieties will be screened in a greenhouse or growth chamber setting on an individual plant basis for lygus bug feeding susceptibility.
