Objective:
Develop a national database of yield response from current and historical trials to enable common assessment of data and promote innovations and harmonization in fertilizer recommendations.
Approach:
ARS will work with Cooperator who will coordinate collaboration across major land grant universities to collate, standardize and ingest data from up to 70 years of fertilizer response trials. Cooperator will work with land grant universities and ARS to identify database requirements, develop database structure and collect available data. Four regional workshops will be held in which fertilizer specialists from each state attend and are trained in steps needed to provide data. At least one national workshop will be held.
