Research Project: Breeding and Genetics of Disease Resistance in Soybean

Location: Soybean/maize Germplasm, Pathology, and Genetics Research

Project Number: 5012-22000-023-015-N
Project Type: Non-Funded Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 23, 2025
End Date: Sep 22, 2026

Objective:
The purpose of the agreement will be to collaborate on host resistance research in Soybeans: Development of screening protocols, analysis of historical data from the germplasm collection, genotyping and genetic mapping on disease resistant loci, and germplasm development.

Approach:
Cooperator will contribute and critically review the data analysis of publicly available disease ratings on the accessions of the USDA Soybean Gemplasm Collection Cooperator will also assist in the development of screening protocols for Red Crown Rot and other soybean diseases. Cooperator and USDA Scientist will share mapping populations that will be use to elucidate the genetic basis of disease resistance.
