Objective:
Research on development, improvement, and evaluation of new and/or existing New World Screwworm (Cochliomyia hominivorax – NWS) strain(s) and other mitigation technologies for use in APHIS NWS prevention, control, and eradication programs in the ongoing NWS emergency.

Approach:
Define research priorities in support of advancing tools and technologies needed for effective control, eradication, and emergency response to ongoing NWS outbreaks to prevent the continued movement and establishment of NWS in the United States. To accomplish this goal, a multi-faceted approach is required that includes enhancing and expanding NWS research capacity.
