Objective:
The objective of the project is to discover genes and gene networks important for seed composition improvement.
Approach:
We have discovered a set of soybean candidate genes and gene networks regulating soybean seed protein and oil. We will work together with the co-operator to test their functions in regulating seed protein and oil in Arabidopsis plants and then further edit them in soybean for seed protein and oil content and composition improvement. We will also take comparative genomic approaches to discover additional genes and optimize the inferred gene networks.
