Research Project: Sensors for Disease Evaluation in Peanut

Location: Peanut and Small Grains Research Unit

Project Number: 3070-21220-008-002-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2020
End Date: Mar 31, 2023

Objective:
Evaluate and develop efficient sensor-based approaches for screening wild and cultivated peanut for disease incidence and severity.

Approach:
Replicated disease trials will be conducted in the laboratory. Traditional manual and visual measurements will be compared to data collected from sensors such as thermal cameras, and methods for data processing and analyses will be established. User-friendly, sensor-based protocols for evaluating wild and cultivated germplasm for disease resistance will be established.
